Dr.N.Sudhakar, Registrar, Malla Reddy University has an extensive research and administrative experience. After being awarded with Ph.D from IIT Kharagpur in 1981, his Excellency started off as Senior Research Officer at the same campus in 1982 and retired as Zonal Project Director at Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in 2015. In his illustrative career spanning over years, he has worked as Senior Scientist and Officer-in-charge of Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI RRS) at Bhuj-Kutch, Senior Scientist and later as Principal Scientist at Zonal Coordinating Unit of Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture campus (CRIDA) in Hyderabad.
During his stint as Acting Zonal Coordinator of National Agricultural Research System under ICAR, he was responsible for establishment of 23 Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) – agricultural extension centers, 12 in Andhra Pradesh and 11 in Maharashtra respectively. He also served as a member of Quinquennial Review Team (QRT) by ICAR and was instrumental in reviewing the progress and reporting the performance of 74 KVKs under Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Hyderabad and 48 KVKs under ATARI, Bengaluru during the review years 2011-12 and 2018-19. He has published a total of 20 research papers till-date in International and National journals of repute in the field of Agricultural Sciences.
He is a guest speaker and offers guest lectures on agricultural extension programs. Being associated with noteworthy organizations as such as International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), African Cotton Foundation (ACF) and The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), he delivered guest lecture on “FYM, Composting and Biochar” for Cotton farmers and Extension staff of Chad, Africa in Aug 2020 and is since active in similar events. In his stint as Registrar of MRUH, he is determined to foster innovative thinking and spirit of service to the society among students.
